Baby Peanut is expected to arrive on February 2, 2010, otherwise known as Groundhog Day. This can either mean that our child will wake up every morning with a crazy sense of de ja vu or will have the best excuse for a "do over" for the rest of his/her life. (Thanks for that idea Shelly!)
This past weekend we've started packing up the home office in preparation for the conversion into the nursery. Remodeling...here we come. When Scott and Sharon (Amber's parents) called and said they wanted to take us furniture shopping for the nursery we were both speechless and excited at their generosity. Furniture shopping is always fun, but when you do it with your in-laws it's an entirely new experience! Thank goodness we all have a sense of humor.
My first few steps inside of the store were both exhilarating and shocking. Furniture, strollers, cribs, diapers, bottles, monitors and pumps. "That pump is for what?!" Yeah, this shopping experience was like none before, but I know that it's one I'll never forget. Amber found the perfect furniture for the room and picked out the funnest themes for either a boy or a girl. Me...I picked out the most rockin' stroller I could find. Huge wheels, pockets, compartments and cup holders! Yeah, yeah I know we won't need it right away, but man is it cool.
So out with the old and in with the new.
This brings us to week 14. "Welcome to the second trimester! Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his/her thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, his/her facial muscles are getting a workout as his/her tiny features form one expression after another. His/her kidneys are producing urine, which are released into the amniotic fluid around him/her — a process he'll/she'll keep up until birth. He/she can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him/her sucking his/her thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he/she measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and weighs 1 1/2 ounces." - BabyCenter.com
From here on out we'll be adding belly photos on a weekly basis. Here is a shot of Amber tonight in her full beauty and grace. The baby bump is showing and we're on our way!
Thanks again to everyone for visiting and please, please, please feel free to leave your comments below.
Have a great week!

Yeah I am the first to comment. Wow and I must say wow. Amber is going to have one of those magazine belly's. I am so envious.. lol As for furniture.. I hope you haven't moved it in yet until you paint. You don't want any spots on it. Just a lil advice bc my son's crib (reused from Alicia) had pink spots on it lol. And yes that infamous pump will be your life saver when it comes time to have a mommy/daddy night away. You get to pump and run. lol so start storing milk early so you have a nice lil back up supply. It is good to have regardless if you choose not to take a break or not . It is good to have it incase Amber gets sick and needs to take meds, then she will have that option to take meds and discard milk bc she will have back up supply. anyways off that subject. So congrats on your lil thumb sucker. Can't wait until the next blog.....

Hi Ava - it's Gamma. I was not able to kiss you last week because I was sick, but I love you little angel. I pray that God protects you and your parents against all this nasty flu and whatever else is out there. I think of you every day and say a little prayer for you. Gampa and I count you as one of the best blessings that God has ever put in our lives. I can not wait for the day that I can place a kiss on your heart that will last a lifetime. Love you.....
